    Job Description

    ANZSCO Code: 312412 – Electronic Engineering Technician. Eva Marine & Industrial Engineering Ltd is an Auckland-based marine and industrial engineering company providing engineering services, maintenance, repair, inspection and engineering support services to commercial vessels, ferries and industrial clients. We are seeking an experienced Electronic Engineering Technician to assist with the installation, testing, servicing, fault-finding and maintenance of electronic equipment and control systems used in marine and industrial applications. The role involves technical work, equipment inspection, fault diagnosis, maintenance planning, testing, commissioning and preparation of technical documentation.     Responsibilities

    • Install, test, inspect, maintain and repair electronic equipment and systems used in marine and industrial environments
    • Diagnose electronic faults using testing and diagnostic equipment and carry out corrective repairs
    • Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of vessel electrical and electronic control systems
    • Test and maintain instrumentation, sensors, monitoring equipment, alarms and control systems
    • Read and interpret electrical/electronic drawings, wiring diagrams, manuals and technical specifications
    • Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of electronic and control equipment
    • Carry out preventative maintenance and equipment inspections on marine vessels and industrial sites
    • Assist engineers and other technicians with fault-finding, system upgrades and technical improvements
    • Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records and job documentation
    • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety procedures, technical requirements and company standards
    • Work on-site at marine vessels, workshops and industrial facilities as required
    • Maintain accurate records in the company's maintenance and asset management systems
    • Ensure all work complies with New Zealand health and safety requirements, maritime requirements, engineering standards and manufacturer recommendations

    Requirements

    • Relevant Diploma or Engineering qualification in Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
    • Relevant experience in engineering technician or related technical work
    • Practical experience with electronic systems, instrumentation, control systems and fault-finding
    • Ability to read technical drawings and use electronic testing equipment
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team
    • Marine and/or industrial maintenance experience is advantageous
    • Good communication and organisational skills
    • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
    • A current New Zealand driver's licence or ability to obtain one, where required
